The local author will be the library’s featured speaker

Local author Gemma Stemley will be the guest speaker on the October 23 program at the Murrysville Community Library.

Stemley is the author of “Finding Home: A Sentimental Journey” which discusses the themes of immigration, home and belonging.

It will take place at 2 p.m. in the library’s new TechNook.

The women’s club will meet on October 21

The Murrysville Woman’s Club will meet at 11:15 a.m. on October 21 at Brushes and Beans in Murrysville.

Lunch will be served at noon and the program will be pottery decoration. To participate or join the club, dial 412-720-8372.

Fundraising will benefit the FR Backpacks-to-Go program

Murrysville-Export Rotary has partnered with Completely Booked in Murrysville for a fundraiser that will benefit Franklin Regional’s Backpacks-to-Go program.

From October 15-17, a portion of the store’s book fair proceeds will go to the program, to ensure attendees also receive a Christmas present in addition to a regular supply of nutritious food.

Fully booked is at 201 Blue Spruce Way in the Blue Spruce Shoppes on Route 22 in Murrysville.

The ministry celebrates its 11th anniversary

No Walls Ministries will mark its 11th church anniversary with an afternoon celebration on October 16.

The church, located at 214 Church Street in New Alexandria, will host a day of live music, food, hay walks, face painting, games and more, starting at 4 p.m. on the church lawn .

The Dean of Greater Works Outreach Bible School, Reverend Andy Mitrik, will be the guest speaker.
